Shocking video. I was impressed. Imagine this really comes true. I would be happy I can order things and get it in thirty minutes. The bad thing is mail men will go out of business. That is not good and also people would try to shot the prime air down to the ground and steal the package. Technology is growing and getting better everyday.
I saw this over the holiday break and I thought this was cool, but at the same time there are a lot of safety issues to deal with. I don't think the FAA is too excited about a non-human commanded object for commercial practices. The benefits are obviously time, and this would be a huge game changer for Amazon, but as far as seeing packages in the sky all the time, that's not very appealing to the eye. It's a very cool concept, but I'm not completely sold on it.
Amazon has been at the for front of online retail for over the last decade. From being the best competitor to Walmart to taking down big chain book stores. Amazon has been leading in business innovation. Now Amazon wants to revolutionize the logistics and shipping industry. By reducing the expense of 2nd party shipping and being able to do same day delivery Amazon will be able save money and charge more money for a better feature. However, there are obvious comfort issues with thousands of unattended flying drones in the sky. Still this technology is inevitable. In my own thoughts when humans are in outer space and on other planets or moons unmanned drones will be the best option to send secluded people objects unless teleportation or 3D printing will be a better and realistic option. That being said, on earth this will give people the option to now live in seclusion and still be accessible to receiving what they want. In the end this will happen.
Great post. It is amazing to see how technology has come. While it is a great idea in terms of customer satisfactory and efficiency with shipments, my only concern is the amount of jobs that it might take away now. Still a great concept.
